Charlotte’s Bat Mitzvah
It was such a joy photographing Charlotte’s Bat Mitzvah! From the family shoot at Woburn Park, to the Rehearsal at Stashover-Slipia Congregation, to the post-service lunch at the family's home, every aspect of Charlotte’s simcha was filled with love, happiness, and warmth.
On Wednesday afternoon, May 11, 2022, I arrived at Woburn Park to meet Charlotte and her family for an immediate family shoot. Everyone looked gorgeous in their outfits, and Charlotte was particularly radiant in her stylish pant suit. She posed so naturally for me, and I could tell she was excited to be photographed on this special day. Charlotte’s younger brother and sister were equally charming, and we got some great shots of them as well. The whole family was very easy to work with. We captured some beautiful moments holding hands and walking together in the park.
After the park, we headed over to Stashover-Slipia for a Rehearsal shoot and more family photos. I first took the family outside for some fun shots against the staircase and white wall behind the shul. Then we went inside and I took shots of Charlotte reading Torah on the bima. The vibrant blue bima cover and the stained glass sections of the Aron Kodesh doors created the perfect backdrop for some stunning shots of Charlotte. As she read from the Torah, her family looked on with such pride and joy. I felt privileged to be part of such a special moment.
After the shul service on Saturday afternoon, May 14, 2022, I went over to the family’s home to photograph the luncheon. It was a perfect spring day, and family and guests were having a wonderful time schmoozing in the backyard. I captured the heartfelt speeches and took candid shots of family and friends as they mingled and enjoyed the delicious lunch. It was clear how much Charlotte meant to everyone there, and I was honoured to be part of her simcha.
Charlotte's Bat Mitzvah was a testament to the love and support of her family and close friends. As a photographer, it was a real joy capturing these special moments and creating lasting memories for the Bat Mitzvah girl and her family. Mazal Tov, Charlotte!

The Middle Eastern food was delicious! Everyone enjoyed the falafel platters while they laughed and schmoozed at their tables.
Over the course of the lunch, I photographed the speeches, slideshow, hora, Bar Mitzvah cake, and shots of family and friends. It was a simcha filled with love, joy, and cherished memories.
The service was followed by a scrumptious lunch, including waffles, smoked salmon latkes, and yoghurt with fresh berries. Of course, I made sure to capture lots of detail shots of the food.
