As a photographer, capturing special moments is an honour and a privilege. I recently had the pleasure of working with Nathan and his family for his Bar Mitzvah. From taking photos of Nathan’s family at the Ledbury Jewish Centre in North York to capturing photos during his Rehearsal and then photographing his Dinner Party at The ROM, the entire experience was filled with love, joy, and warmth.

On Thursday, January 13, 2022, I arrived at the Ledbury Jewish Centre in North York to take photos of Nathan and his family. Everyone was dressed in their best attire, and the modern synagogue provided a beautiful backdrop for the photos. I took candid and posed shots of Nathan around the shul, then we moved into the synagogue to take photos of Nathan with his parents.

Later, we moved into the bright main sanctuary where I took photos of Nathan reading Torah on the bima, surrounded by his parents and grandparents. It was a beautiful moment as Nathan practiced his Torah portion. His family was so proud of him, and it was very special capturing the love and emotion that surrounded him.

The evening of Saturday, April 23, 2022 was the highlight of Nathan’s Bar Mitzvah celebration. The Royal Ontario Museum was a stunning venue, and we started out taking photos of Nathan around the iconic building. We then took family photos in the impressive dinosaur exhibit area. We managed to capture some fun shots too! After family photos, we moved into the event space where Nathan’s dinner was held. Guests arrived looking their best, and drinks and appetizers were enjoyed by all. Over the course of the evening, I captured shots of the food, decor, speeches, hora, dancing, and schmoozing. The photos turned out beautifully, and I knew that Nathan’s family would treasure them for years to come.

It was an honour to capture all the special memories from Nathan’s simcha! Mazal Tov, Nathan and family!
