Jersey’s Bat Mitzvah
As a photographer, there is nothing more fulfilling than capturing the special moments of a family's simcha. That is exactly what I experienced while photographing Jersey's Bat Mitzvah at Beth Emeth on Thursday morning, June 9, 2022.
From the moment the family arrived, I could feel the excitement in the air. Everyone looked stunning in their Bat Mitzvah outfits, and Jersey's blue dress looked gorgeous on her.
I started out with a mini-session of Jersey outdoors, taking photos of her against different backdrops around the shul. Her fun personality came through early in the shoot, and we got some cute shots that I think Jersey will love.
Next, I photographed Jersey with her mom. I captured shots of their playful, loving connecting. I then took shots of Jersey with her dad. From their affectionate interaction, I could tell they had a very special bond. We then moved inside for immediate and extended family photos. Seeing Jersey’s grandparents so excited to share in their granddaughter’s simcha was truly touching.
After family photos, guests began to arrive. Everyone gathered in the small sanctuary for the morning service led by Rabbi Morrison. Jersey did an excellent job reading from the Torah, making her family and friends so proud. I particularly enjoyed capturing the tender moments between Jersey, her younger brother, and her parents. There was so much love in the room, and I made it a priority to photograph those heartwarming candid moments so the family could cherish and relive them for years to come.
Overall, it was a beautiful morning celebrating Jersey’s Bat Mitzvah. Mazal Tov, Jersey and family! Thanks so much for having me capture your special day.
